During the night into Tuesday, skies will remain overcast, but during the day sunshine will alternate with clouds, and light rain is possible in some areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
For the remainder of the pre-holiday week, precipitation will be limited, with a higher likelihood of rain only during the night into Saturday. Southerly winds will dominate, generally blowing at light to moderate strength, with stronger gusts expected along the coast only on Tuesday night. Fog or mist will frequently form during night-time hours.
Air temperatures will mostly range between +2 and +7°C both at night and during the day. The coolest conditions are expected during the nights into Wednesday and Thursday, when temperatures across wider areas may drop below 0°C.
The following week will also begin under the influence of a high-pressure system, bringing relatively dry weather and predominantly positive temperatures.
